One of the tasks of prosecutors is the maximum attenuation of corruption in the country, said the candidate for the post of Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov, speaking for the Federation Council meeting, where he considers his candidacy.
“Corruption as a manifestation of one of the iniquities are also, of course, decomposes as the business environment and the state as a whole. Corruption exists insofar as there is the ability of officials to dispose of resources not belonging to him by taking those or other decisions”, — he said.
“The number of such solutions may include management of budget funds, state and municipal property, privileges and state contracts and other, — said Krasnov. In this regard, the task is to weaken the evil specified through the improvement of the legal environment and firm response to any signs of corruption”.
Feedback from the population
A candidate for the office of attorney General plans to establish an efficient feedback with the population, to organize the work of the Supervisory authority for the needs of the society.
“Plan to establish an efficient feedback with the population and to increase transparency of prosecution, to know the weaknesses and build [the work] to the needs of society and the state,” he said.
Krasnov said that changes in the work will be aimed at the eradication of the evils inherent in not only the Prosecutor”s office, and other agencies. “We are talking about orientation, not on departmental results, and for a real change in people’s lives through measures of prosecutorial response. In this regard, prosecutors, like other employees, must pay attention to the needs of the public, commensurate with the results of their activities to their satisfaction with the education, health and the quality of the investigation,” he said.
Candidate for attorney General added that “the performance of prosecutors occasionally can be called evil only because of careless attitude to their formation from the negligent employees.”
Experience in the UK
Krasnov also said that his experience in the Investigative Committee will allow for attorney General “new look” at the work of the Department and the police.
“My experience in the UK will allow me to take a fresh look at the work of SK and the interior Ministry, to seek some common ground and understand the process. So I don’t think there will be some drastic measures,” he said.
Krasnov noted that it is first necessary to delve into the work, and then to look, who as works. “Then, of course, [is] set up specific mechanisms and measures of prosecutorial response,” he said.
